Shaman King: Flowers has just released a new trailer for the upcoming anime adaptation, and also revealed the official release date.
The video gives fans a glimpse at the Shaman King sequel, with the trailer including animated clips of Shaman King: Flowers and a sample of the show’s theme song, “Turn the World.” . The notable opening is once again presented by famous singer and voice actress Nana Mizuki, who will reprise her role as Tamao Tamamura in the upcoming series.
Likewise, much of the former Shaman King cast is also expected to return in Shaman King: Flowers, which is scheduled to open on January 9, 2024. A previous trailer announced the cast. Voice actors Megumi Hayashibara, Katsuyuki Konishi and Minami Takayama will reprise their main roles. Play the roles of Anna Asakura, Amidamaru and Hao Asakura respectively. Yoko Hikasa, who voices Shaman King’s main character Yoh Asakura, will also play Yoh’s son and the sequel’s protagonist, Hana Asakura. Bridge Animation is producing Shaman King: Flowers, with Takeshi Furuta as director and Shoji Yonemura as series editor.
The future of the Sorcerer King
Based on the manga of the same name by Hiroyuki Takei, Shaman King is a shounen anime series about the rise of Yoh, a boy who hopes to one day become the next Shaman King. The first anime adaptation of Shaman King debuted in 2001 and included some unavoidable major changes from the source material, as the manga was still ongoing at the time of its release. The Shaman King reboot, which debuted in 2021 and ended a year later, notably has a more manga-like plot while retaining some of the voice actors from the previous adaptation.
Shaman King: Flowers takes place more than a decade after the events of Shaman King and focuses on Yoh’s heir, Hana Asakura, a young shaman who has only recently awakened her spiritual potential. The series synopsis reads: “Hana Asakura realizes that being the son of Yoh and Anna Asakura isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, and boredom makes him itchy for any form of excitement. But when a war comes straight to him.” at his door, it was from the place he least expected it—his family? Asakura’s battle for supremacy begins!
Shaman King: Flowers premieres January 9, 2024. Bridge’s Shaman King reboot is available to stream on Netflix.
