Opening theme for the upcoming anime adaptation of Scott’s pilgrimage has been released. The opening song is titled “Bloom” performed by Japanese rock band Necry Talkie. Science SARU is animating the film, which will premiere on Netflix on November 17. The anime will bring back actors from the 2010 film Traveler scott vs the world to voice his character.
Key people involved in the production of the anime adaptation include Eunyoung Choi as producer and Abel Góngora as director. Edgar Wright, Nira Park, Marc Platt, Jared LeBoff, Adam Seigel and Michael Bacall will also executive produce the series. Official X (Twitter) account also provocative “Brand new Anamanaguchi music.”
Scott’s pilgrimage focuses on the story of part-time musician Scott Pilgrim, who lives in Toronto, Ontario and plays bass in a band. One day, he falls in love with American delivery girl Ramona Flowers, but he must defeat Flowers’ seven evil exes in order to date her properly.
The franchise began with six black-and-white volumes, initially released by manga publisher Oni Press. The graphic novel by Bryan Lee O’Malley was later republished by HarperCollins’ Fourth Estate and made available in full color through Nathan Fairbairn, running from August 2012 to April 2014.
Besides the 2010 film, several spin-offs have been adapted from the franchise, including games. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: Gamewas developed by Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Chengdu in 2010. Although unlisted in 2014, the game was re-released under the title “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition” on January 14, 2021.
