Sailor Moon is one of the most iconic and popular anime and manga of all time, and as a testament to how beloved the series is, a physical store entirely inspired by the series opened for the first time in 2017. Over the past seven years, the official store has offered a wealth of themed merchandise and fun for fans of the series, and now, stunning new 90s artwork has been revealed for the first time to celebrate the store's seventh anniversary.
Located in Tokyo, the world's only permanent Sailor Moon store sells fully licensed merchandise based on the classic manga and anime series. Items available include clothing, jewelry, bags, pins, key chains, stuffed animals, dolls, cosmetic products, and more. Many of these items can be purchased elsewhere, but some are exclusive to the store. The store has a themed layout, with a cute pink area themed around the main character and a royal blue area themed around Princess Serenity.
Sailor Moon Gets New Official Artwork Based on Pencil Artwork from 'Sailor Moon R'
The Sailor Moon Store will celebrate its 7th anniversary on Friday, September 13, 2024. The event is being commemorated with a new piece of Sailor Moon artwork featuring the Inner Sailor Guardians: Sailor Moon, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter, and Sailor Venus. The artwork is based directly on the Sailor Moon R pencil art from the 90s by Movic, with the characters in identical poses and facial expressions. Usagi is even depicted holding the same stuffed animal in her arms.
A series of new, yet-to-be-announced products at the Sailor Moon store will accompany this new artwork. The artwork will also be prominently displayed in the store's window starting on the 13th.
