In early September, rumors that GTA 6 might delay its release date to 2026 left the gaming community around the world bewildered.
It is understandable that most players have been waiting for this project for more than 10 years, and GTA 6 is also advertised as having the largest investment in history, as well as promising to bring a new standard to the world gaming industry.
Rockstar itself has yet to confirm the rumors that have been spreading in recent days. Some sources say that Rockstar employees have not heard about this delay at all. However, it is entirely possible that the decision to delay the release date was kept secret, even within the company, and was made months ago. Right after the rumors spread and fans were still skeptical about the possibility of a delay, Rockstar has just made a move that surprised everyone.
Specifically, as fans have found, Rockstar Games is currently recruiting for beta testing positions for the game GTA 6.
Interestingly, the job posting specifically asks for candidates to have played GTA 5 as well as Red Dead Redemption 2. The job description for the game tester position includes “ensuring product quality of Rockstar releases to industry-leading standards. Create and execute comprehensive test plans ensuring everything is working correctly. Write concise bug reports and provide all relevant supporting information such as screenshots, videos, and gameplay logs.”
The remaining two positions are mainly translations for the German and Spanish versions. This shows that the development of GTA 6 has entered the final stages. According to some sources, the official release date of GTA 6 may be revealed in the late 2024 period.
