Granzella announced during its “Granzella Gathering 2024” presentation live on Friday that it is delaying its R-Type Tactics I • II Cosmos game for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store until 2025.
The game was originally scheduled to release in the West for PS5, PS4, Switch, and PC via Steam in summer 2023, but Granzella delayed it to fall 2024 (before this latest delay).
NIS America will publish the game in English and describes R-Type Tactics I • II Cosmos:

This two-game mashup of classic R-Type Tactics titles hits modern consoles for the first time, equipped with an army of unique units to deploy across dozens of levels, all visually realized in Unreal Engine 5.
Multiple campaigns let you take on the Bydo Empire before taking on the role of them yourself, while competitive online play lets you take on others.
The first R-Type arcade shooter was released in 1987. R-Type Final was released for the PS2 in 2003. R-Type Tactics and its sequel R-Type Tactics II were released for the PlayStation Portable in 2007 and 2009, respectively. Tōzai Games released R-Type Dimensions, a compilation of the first two R-Type games, on PC via Steam in November 2018.
NIS America launches Granzella's R-Type Final 3 Evolved for PlayStation 5 in North America and Europe in April 2023.
Granzella released R-Type Final 2's sequel game for PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC via Steam worldwide in April 2021.
