Lucia, a popular Korean manga series, will look different to fans when it returns for a third season.
As reported by Redbeanime, Lucia will have a new artist working in the third season since the original artist is working on a new webcomic. As the original artist, TARUVI went on hiatus last year due to ill health, it is unlikely they will be able to work on Lucia and the second webcomic. In early February, KIDARISUDIO made an announcement, informing fans of “the time to reorganize to continue with Season 3.” The studio revealed that they will announce a return date for Season 3 once confirmed.
Lucia fans are devastated
The announcement of a possible artist change proved devastating for fans, even though many understood it was in the artist’s best interest. One commented with a picture of a crying baby, writing: “What did I do to get so hated Luciaaaa.” Since the series has been on hiatus for over a year, this announcement adds salt to the wound with a line that reads: “We [seriously] waited so long just to be betrayed like this,” and another quote was retweeted, “I just fell to my knees.”
It’s not unusual for Korean manhwa to change artists midway through. Another popular webtoon, Twilight Poem, created by MIDNIGHT STUDIO, revealed the artist and their colorist will be leaving the series in the middle of Season 2. Another Solo Glitch Player webcomic has also changed the artist two. times, and the fans’ reception of this artwork change was not as expected. positive.
About Lucia’s plot
Originally a web novel by Skye, Lucia received a webcomic adaptation in July 2019, with Season 2 ending in April 2022 with 115 chapters. Lucia follows the character of the same name as the 16th princess to be abandoned. Lucia has a special ability: dreams that foretell her future. As she dreams of a future where she is sold to an unpleasant Earl, Lucia is determined to escape that seemingly inevitable future by seeking out Duke Taran as her potential husband. Lucia originally started with an official English license on Tappytoon but no longer does as Lezhin currently holds the rights to the work.
Lucia’s first two seasons are available to read on Lezhin. The studio has yet to reveal a release date for Season 3.
