During this Alpha Test, gamers will have access to some basic content of the game. There are 18 playable characters in total, including:
Avengers team: Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Hulk, Iron, Spider-Man
Guardians of the Galaxy: Groot, Mantis, Rocket, Raccoon, Star-Lord
Other characters: Loki, Luna, Snow, Magneto, Namor, Peni, Scarlet Witch, Storm, The Punisher
Marvel Rivals promises battlefields that can change in a very diverse way, from New York, Asgard, Tokyo in 2099 or other places. It's worth noting that factions can engage in pre-battle reshaping of their surroundings to better suit each team's tactical requirements.
Strategic thinking doesn't stop there, because players can find and choose many different combos in the hero lineup. For example, Rocket Raccoon can jump on Groot's back to become stronger or Hulk can release Gamma energy at Iron Man for a large-scale attack.
Like other free-to-play games, Marvel Rivals will continue to grow and add new content each season, including characters, maps, items… Each new season will also tell more of the story of world in Marvel Rivals, specially created by NetEase's author team.
The plot of the first season of Marvel Rivals will be about the multiverse. Where Doctor Doom and his future self from 2099 are locked in a brutal battle that causes countless universes to collide in the timeline. To prevent things from getting worse, heroes and villains from across the multiverse must put their differences aside and work together to save the universe.
