Rascal Doesn’t Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai (Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai) is a Japanese light novel series written by Hajime Kamoshida and illustrated by Keji Mizoguchi. Publishing began in April 2014 and is still ongoing. It also received a manga adaptation by Tsugumi Nanamiya, which ran from December 2015 to 2018. Prior to the latest films, the franchise received a 13-episode anime television adaptation by studio CloverWorks, as well as a sequel film titled Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreamy Girl.
Yen Press licensed the novel Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid and they describe the story: March has arrived, which means the third semester is just a month away. Mai’s graduation ceremony has come and gone. It may be time for a change, but that’s not nearly enough to explain why Sakuta met a little girl who looked exactly like Mai when she was a child actress. Before he could begin to unravel this new mystery, his father called. Their families haven’t lived together since Kaede was bullied. Two years later, their mother said she wanted to meet her daughter. What has changed and what has stayed the same? There’s only one way to find out…
