Kadokawa's Dengeki Bunko announced on Friday that Hajime Kamoshida's Seishun Buta Yarō (Rascal Does Not Dream) light novel series is entering its final season and is coming to an end.

The 14th novel, titled Seishun Buta Yarō wa Girfriend no Yume wo Minai (Rascal Does Not Dream of a Girlfriend), will be published on August 9. The 15th volume, Seishun Buta Yarō wa Dear Friend no Yume wo Minai (Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend), will be released on October 10. Each episode will have a limited edition that comes with a drama CD.
Kadokawa published the first novel in Hajime Kamoshida's series, titled Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai (Seishun Buta Yarō wa Bunny Girl-senpai no Yume wo Minai), in April 2014. will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year. The series has more than 3 million copies in circulation (unsold).
Yen Press is publishing the novel series in English.
Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai (Seishun Buta Yarō wa Bunny Girl-senpai no Yume wo Minai), a television anime based on the light novel series, premiered in Japan in October 2018 and aired for 13 episodes. The anime adapts the story up to the fifth novel volume. Aniplex of America has streamed the series on Crunchyroll, Funimation, and other services.
Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl (Seishun Buta Yarō wa Yume-Miru Shōjo no Yume wo Minai), an anime film adapting the sixth and seventh light novels in the series, debuted in Japan in June 2019. 2019. Aniplex of America and Funimation Films released the anime in the United States.
A subsequent anime project adapted the eighth and ninth novels in the franchise: Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out and Rascal Does Not Dream of a Backpack Kid.
The risky Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister debuted in Japan in June 2023. The film sold 118,108 tickets in its first three days and earned 175,648,924 yen (about US$1.28 million). to place 4th in its opening weekend.
Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid opened in Japan on December 1 in 103 theaters in Japan and debuted at number 4 on its opening weekend. The film sold 119,000 tickets and grossed about 163 million yen (about US$11.12 million) in its first three days of release.
Aniplex of America screened the film with English subtitles in US theaters on March 24 and an English dub on March 25.
The novel's “college student arc” will be adapted into an anime.
