Do you know that feeling when you invite your friends to watch or read One Piece and they whine about how long it is? And you know how, as a fan, sometimes you feel like it's not long enough?
Now we finally have a way to include them in the series thanks to the WIT Remake. Imagine a series being remade while it's still running. Unfortunately for us fans, this could mean that the “new” One Piece will likely be a shorter seasonal experience.
But for the OG fans, we decided to review One Piece and List the 10 longest arcs in this amazing adventure. Their sections have been ranked according to the number of chapters in each section.
10. Thriller Bark
Number of chapters: 48 (442-489)
Number of episodes: 45 (337-381)
Thriller Bark is a pre-time skip legend arc, based on Gecko Moria, a warlord of the sea. This season saw the introduction of characters such as Brook, who joined the crew, and other characters such as Bartholomew Kuma, Ryuma, Lola, all of whom played important roles in later seasons.
This arc begins as the Straw Hats travel through the mysterious Florian Triangle, which is famous for the many ships that went missing there. Along the way, they find a strange skeleton named Brook, who explains to them that his shadow was stolen by Gecko Moria.
From here, the arc is an exciting ride with almost every crew member finding themselves in a difficult and sometimes hilarious situation, as all crew members unite to take down the boss. end of “Oars”. And before we forget, we also get to see Luffy's legendary form – “Nightmare Luffy”.
9. Fishman Island
Chapter: 51 (603-653)
Episodes: 51 (523-541 and 543-574)
The first real episode since the timeskip, this one was very successful because we got to see the results of the two years of training the Straw Hats went through. Centered around the racial tensions between Mermen and humans, we finally see the influence of Arlong's radical ideology.
As the group passes through Fishman Island to the New World, they are caught up in a coup by Hody Jones, who assembles a crew of 100,000 fishmen, all ready to take control of the kingdom and then destroy humanity. On the other hand, we see Luffy and crew meeting Shirahoshi and then learning about the Neptunians and Noah.
This arc features incredible battle scenes as Luffy destroys 50,000 members of the New Fishman Pirates in a single moment using Conqueror Haki (goosebumps moment) and goes on to learn more about the world's lore. One Piece world, by revealing that Shirahoshi is an ancient weapon.
Let's not forget the prophecy that Luffy will be the one to destroy Fishman Island, this is still an event that we are waiting to see happen.
8. Water 7
Chapter: 51 (322-374)
Number of episodes: 37 (229-263)
Water 7 happened to be the 7th longest arc in One Piece until Egghead took over. Coming from a storyline full of amazing lore like Skypiea, Oda should have had trouble coming up with something even better, but nope. He goes on to write another crazy arc like it's nothing.
Water 7 is a wild arc, with the crew trying to repair the Going Merry and Robin dealing with the ghosts of her past. With the introduction of the Franky Family and the Galley-La Shipbuilding Company, we learn more about how to build great pirate ships and the urgent need for shipbuilders.
This entire arc is filled with a sense of mystery where we can sense something is going on but can't quite put our finger on it, until the very end when we discover something shocking.
7. Egghead
Number of chapters: 53 (1058 – Ongoing)
Number of episodes: 12 (1086 – Ongoing)
At number 7 on the list of longest arcs in One Piece, we have the newest ongoing arc, Egghead. In short, this is one of the craziest arcs to date, introducing new characters like Vegapunk and the Five Great Saints, along with Vegapunk's new creations the Seraphim, meant to replace the Lords.
You know this part.
You know this part is something big when the narrator says “the resolution of this case will cause a shock the world has never seen coming!!”
After that statement, the arc spread more and more everywhere. There are members of the Blackbeard Pirates, CP0, Admiral Kizaru, Kuma, all the Five Elders in their demonic Zoan forms and of course the Straw Hats, not forgetting the Giant Warrior Pirates on the island fight like a big battle.
6. Enies Lobby
Chapter: 56 (375-430)
Number of episodes: 46 (264-290, 293-302 and 304-312)
Enies Lobby continues where Water 7 left off. The Straw Hats barely had a ship left in operation, their crew member Robin was sent to trial at Enies Lobby, one of the three World Government Strongholds. But the crew faces an impossible mission after being quickly defeated by CP9 agents.
This arc created some of the most heartbreaking and iconic scenes in all of One Piece, with Robin crying and begging to be saved, and the Straw Hats saying goodbye to one of the crew members, Going Merry. We also see hateful characters like Spandam, who One Piece fans would swear to kill if he were real.
And let's not forget the Hero from Sniper Island, Sogeking, who under Luffy's orders shot down the World Government's flag, declaring war on them.
The entire crew receives great power-ups leading to some exciting battles between the Straw Hats and CP9 Agents. This arc ends with the terrifying Buster Call, which threatens to destroy everything on Enies Lobby including the Straw Hats.
5. Arabasta
Number of chapters: 63 (155-217)
Number of episodes: 39 (92-130)
Another great arc in One Piece, this time showing us the dark side of rebellion and coups. This season also introduces us to the second Sea Lord, Sir Crocodile, who secretly runs an organization called Baroque Works, whose goal is to eliminate the current rulers of Arabasta and take over to find Get an ancient weapon.
This season introduces us to many new things like poneglyphs and ancient weapons, along with characters like Nico Robin and Bon Chan (and the Kungfu dugongs).
This is the first part where Luffy begins his series of taking down the Lords one by one and revealing their plots. Luffy's help of Princess Vivi is also the beginning of a group of powerful kingdoms supporting the Straw Hats.
4. Skypiea
Number of chapters: 66 (237-302)
Number of episodes: 43 (153-195)
The existence of most arc skippers, true fans know how much joy the Skypiea arc gave us by taking us to the mythical islands of Skypiea. It was in this arc that we saw the early signs of a new power system later revealed to be Haki.
That was also the first time we saw the truly destructive power of the logia devil fruit in the form of Enel, the “God” of Skypiea.
This part is where we see various things like the dial which was an extremely cool gear system (unfortunately it was removed), Mantra which is just another word for Quan Haki Assassins and giant Snake “gods”. This is also the part we see Klabautermann legendary.
Skypiea alone has so much legend that die-hard fans later recalled in Wano, when Gear 5 was about to launch. For all we know, there are many more things we saw that will be recalled in future installments.
3. Cake Island
Number of chapters: 78 (825-902)
Number of episodes: 95 (783-877)
One of the longest arcs in One Piece, it was when I finally felt the length of One Piece while bingeing (God, this arc never seems to end!!!). Overall just a necessary part of Sanji's character development after the war. It was during this arc that we discovered Sanji's true heritage as the son of the leader of Germa 66.
This is also the part where we encounter the 2nd Sea Emperor, Big Mom. After her menacing confrontation with Luffy about a snail transponder all the way back to Fish-Man Island, it was obvious that there would be more involving Big Mom, but oh my!! The way Oda did it was beautiful. From spooky trees to talking clouds, Whole Cake Island is a hellish arc.
Luffy's entire plot to go to enemy territory, just to save his teammates and friends from a forced marriage, while Sanji went along with the marriage to save Zeff and the Straw Hats caused it becomes an emotional ride. Combine that with Pedro's death and you have an arc that will make you want to cry your eyes out.
But don't be confused. This arc is not only filled with emotions but also intense action, with Luffy vs Katakuri being the highlight of this arc.
The battle between these two giants is definitely a crazy experience that keeps us on the edge of our seats. Katakuri is better than Luffy in every aspect but Luffy still emerges as the underdog and awakens his advanced weapon Haki to defeat Katakuri in the end.
2. Dressrosa
Number of chapters: 102 (700-801)
Number of episodes: 118 (629-746)
As the second largest installment in One Piece, Dressrosa is definitely a big journey in and of itself. From fighting CP0 and a “celestial dragon” to meeting one of the new Admirals, this season certainly played a huge role in preparing our favorite crew for what's to come. happen.
Dressrosa is definitely one of the darker parts of One Piece, with the whole thing starting because of the brutal treatment Doffy received after giving up his position as the Heavenly Dragon. It also explores Law's sad story as his entire country is dying from Amber Lead Syndrome.
Furthermore, his only well-wisher, Corazon, also died while trying to cure him. This is only part of the story as there is an equally heartbreaking story surrounding the royal family of the kingdom of Dressrosa, whom Doflamingo manipulated and disgraced.
On top of that, Doflamingo was the mastermind behind the SMILE operation (beautifully foreshadowed in chapter 504), which caused great harm to many people, especially in the Kingdom of Wano.
However, this arc isn't all dark, we fans finally get to see Luffy's brand new Gear 4: Bound Man, which is certainly funny but also extremely powerful as he defeats a defeated Doflamingo. awakens at the end and puts an end to his activities in the black market as the Joker.
1. Wano
Number of chapters: 149 (909-1057)
Number of episodes: 191
By far the biggest arc in One Piece, Wano is the culmination of the efforts of Law and Luffy, who became allies to defeat Kaido, all the way back to Punk Hazard. Wano was both a great experience because of the newer art style and the excellent animators who gave it their all, especially when the Onigashima Raid began.
Wano is an isolated “fortress” island where Kaido once established his base and enslaved citizens for his nefarious purposes over the past 20 years. Luffy allies with Law to defeat Kaido, and is asked by Kinemon and Momonosuke to do the same.
From then on, we see the crew land in Edo-era Japanese-style civilization, where they make new friends and reunite with old ones. This part also powers up many characters for the final showdown between the Beast and the Big Mom Pirates as well as the Ninja-Samurai-Mink-Pirate alliance.
