Just a few days ago, Black Myth: Wukong suddenly became the center of controversy after a “war of words” broke out between fans of this game and God of War: Ragnarok. It all started after a comment comparing the two games, claiming that Black Myth: Wukong was much more outstanding than the aforementioned blockbuster series. And it didn't take long for the “God of War” side to counterattack, claiming that GameScience's blockbuster had also “copied” many ideas from God of War: Ragnarok.
Combat – magic
With Kratos wielding the Leviathan axe, Blades of Chaos, players can flexibly use his skills to stun enemies, while also having cooldowns. Black Myth Wukong also has a very similar approach, although players only use one weapon throughout the journey.
Aside from the spells and abilities players can use, the combat systems in Ragnarok and Wukong still maintain strong similarities in movement and the importance of combining normal and heavy attacks.
Both have epic boss fight scenes at the beginning of the game.
There's no denying the spectacular nature of God of War Ragnarok's opening, picking up the story right where it left off with 2018's Santa Monica with an encounter with Freya. The final game's opening ended with a gripping battle with Thor, and future boss encounters.
Black Myth: Wukong follows the same style not only with the epic Erlang Shen fight when playing as Wukong but also continues to create high quality boss fights throughout the length of the game.
All have companions
With much of the story and experience already in place from 2018's God of War, players will begin God of War: Ragnarok as Atreus – Kratos' son and sometimes Freya as well.
Black Myth: Wukong has a very similar segment, where the player fights alongside Pigsy, who deals a decent amount of damage to enemies while healing us.
