After three years of painful waiting for fans Bleach creator Tite Kubo, Burn witches has finally made its long-awaited return. An announcement on the series’ official website was made along with a trailer for the anime series’ return. “Another Soul Society by Tite Kubo. The Two Witches prequel story is about to be adapted into an anime,” the website reads. Many other information such as staff and cast have also been revealed but there is still no release date.
Burn The Witch is based on the manga of the same name by Tite Kubo, the legendary mangaka behind the Bleach series. It began being serialized as a one-shot in 2018, in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. An anime adaptation was then announced and released from August 2020 to September 2020. The first season includes the first four chapters. The production team has been silent since then and now fans are in luck with the anime’s return.
Burn the Witch The new part will be a prequel
The new project is titled Burn the Witch #0.8 “Don’t judge a book by its cover”. This will be a prequel to season 1 of the anime. Studio Colorido will return to handle the animation. The project will once again be directed by Tatsuro Kawano, an industry veteran who has worked on anime such as Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Kill la Kill and Psycho-Pass. Many of the previous voice actors will also return. Asami Tano (Zom 100, One Piece) will voice Ninny Spangcole, Yuina Yamada will continue to voice Noel Niihashi and Shimba Tsuchiya (Haikyuu!!, My Teen Romantic Comedy) will voice Balgo Parks.
This announcement was made after the Burn The Witch teaser at the end of episode 9 of Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War The Separation. The new season will adapt the manga’s original one-shot, which is important to the anime’s plot. The first season left out many details and had plot holes that the upcoming season will hopefully fix. Currently, there is no specific timeline for the release date, but it will come sooner as the new season of Bleach is coming to an end.
The series takes place in the Bleach universe. Seventy-two percent of the deaths in London were caused by the magical creature dragon. Similar to Hollows, normal humans cannot see these beasts. There exists an organization called Wing Bind that fights against these dragons and protects normal humans. The film revolves around two agents of the organization: Ninny Spangcole and Noel Niihashi. Together they go on a mission to rescue civilians and collect dragons to collect. With many similarities to Bleach, Burn the Witch offers interesting interactions between the characters in the two shows. With Bleach coming to an end, hopefully Bleach Author Tite Kubo will take up the pen and continue writing new chapters Burn witches.
