New series restarted Pokémon Horizon just saw the debut of the first character in the Pokémon games Scarlet and Violet, and she’s sparked new rivalry with the series’ heroes. Nemona, a fan-favorite character in the game, first appeared in anime form and the series attempted to portray her personality.
Nemona is one of the first characters the player encounters in Scarlet and Violet, and she becomes their rival throughout the game, with the two trainers pushing each other to the next level. Nemona is known to be obsessed with Pokémon battles, always challenging players to a match when they meet, although that doesn’t always happen. The version of Nemona seen in the series is very similar to her video game version, eager to challenge Roy and Riko to a duel, although the pair are barely prepared for an opponent like her.
Pokémon Horizons’ Take on Nemona is absolutely correct
Of course, Nemona is introduced, fighting another trainer. Riko and Roy enjoy watching her battle, and as they talk afterwards, Nemona challenges them as well. Unfortunately for her, though, they’re here on business, as Artazon’s local gym head Brassius is said to have a clue as to Black Rayquaza’s whereabouts. Nemona is also here to help out Brassius, who has been pretty frustrated lately, so she joins the pair for most of the episode. Thus, Nemona is viewed and commented upon as Roy confronts Brassius in a gym battle, bringing back the classic Pokémon trilogy of having side characters explain a battle as it happens.
Nemona is very similar to her in the games – a bit eager, but very kind and well-intentioned. They tried to prove that Nemona kept her Champion rank here in the anime, just like she does in the game. It looks like Nemona will appear in at least one more episode, as she will also appear in the preview of the next episode. Nemona is just as intrigued by the story of Black Rayquaza as Riko and Roy herself, so it makes sense for her to accompany them in a not-too-distant major clue.
Pokémon Horizons finally gives Nemona a voice
Perhaps the best thing about watching animated Nemona is that she finally has a voice, as Scarlet and Violet are disappointingly lacking in voice acting. Nemona’s energetic personality definitely benefits from being fully voiced, and so, in a way, her anime version almost feels like a more realistic version of the character. . Her presence also opens the door for other beloved characters from Scarlet and Violet to debut, such as Arven. It’s unknown how long Nemona will last at this stage, but many fans wouldn’t mind if she became a permanent part of the series. Pokémon Horizon.
