Warning: Pokémon Horizons reveal, Episode #12The Pokémon Horizon the anime has finally come out and revealed the core plot of the series, and it all boils down to a legendary adventurer who might just be the strongest trainer ever seen in anime. This trainer is responsible for catching shiny Black Rayquaza, plus five ultra-rare Legendary Pokémon, which could put him in a league completely different than any other trainer has seen until now.
Episode #11 of Pokémon Horizons revealed the existence of a second Ancient Poké Ball that, like the one containing Black Rayquaza, opens up the possibility of a full set of six. As Riko and Roy help Arboliva keep an eye on the destroyed forest, it is finally satisfied with their performance enough to return to its own Ancient Poké Ball, handing it over to Roy. In episode #12, Riko and Roy do some research, including reading a legend from one of Riko’s father’s books. Through it, they discover that the legendary adventurer Lucius Roy has heard about is real, and that these ancient Poké Balls are his, revealing that there is a full team of six to find.
The Legendary Pokémon Adventurer is Extremely Powerful
With Arboliva now in the Ancient Poké Ball, two of the six are known: Black Rayquaza and this Titan-sized Arboliva. In the world of anime, catching a legendary Pokémon is a rarity. The Legends are often depicted as fully self-aware beings with their own thoughts and feelings who don’t really appreciate being captured and are therefore often left unattended to their duties. . Even in cases where the Legend is captured, such as Goh’s Suicune, it can only happen because Goh respects Suicune’s desire to travel and clean up the contaminated waters.
In order to not only capture a Legend, but also a Shining Legend, who happens to be one of the strongest, this adventurer must be a good trainer. The Titan-sized Arboliva is similarly impressive, as giant Pokémon like these are often depicted as uncatchable due to their sheer size. One can only imagine what other Pokémon this adventurer must have on his team, as the Ancient Poké Balls themselves are considered treasures. The picture book in which Riko and Roy read the lore has some simple illustrations, but they can’t clearly identify the specific Pokémon. The best that can be said is that there seem to be two flying Pokémon, a water Pokémon and a land Pokémon.
Pokémon Horizons reveals the strongest team in history
The reveal of many Ancient Poké Balls also explains why Rayquaza came to the Paldea region: to test its friends. Following Rayquaza can also lead to other Ancient Poké Balls, and if Arboliva is any indication, they’re not all simply waiting inside a sealed ball. This definitely looks like it will be the main plot for Pokémon Horizonand while it’s simple, it’s a cool thing with the ability to see some really cool Pokémon, which is exactly what fans want from the Pokémon anime.
