The livestream event “MF Bunko J Naruto no Gakuensai 2024″(MF Bunko J Summer School Festival 2024) on Sunday revealed that writer Yūshi Ukai and artist Nekometal's play on the death game of putting food on the table (Shibō Yūgi de Meshi) o Kuu) will be adapted into a television anime. Yuuki awakens to find herself wearing a maid uniform in an unfamiliar manor. After wandering into the dining room, she meets five other girls, each wearing identical outfits. The girls soon learn that the manor is filled with deadly weapons and deadly traps… and that they can only escape by playing the most gruesome of games. As the horrifying truth is revealed, each girl's face turns pale—except Yuuki. Why? Because this isn't her first time around. That's right—Yuuki is a professional death game player who lives off the prize money she gets from winning brutal killing contests, and she won't let this opportunity pass her by.
Kadokawa's MF Bunko J imprint published the first volume of the light novel series in November 2022, after it won the Excellence Award at the 18th MF Bunko J Light Novel Newcomer Awards that same year. The seventh volume of the novel will be published in Japan on September 25.
This light novel series also ranked #1 in the New Title category in Takarajimasha's Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi 2024! (This Light Novel is Amazing!).
Banzai Kotobuki Daienkai launched a manga adaptation in Kadokawa's Comp Ace magazine in April 2023. Kadokawa published the manga's second compiled book volume on December 26.
