The main character is Jung Soo-in, played by Jeon So-nee. The remaining cast includes Koo Kyo-hwan as Seol Kang-woo, Lee Jung-hyun as Choi Jun-kyung, Kwon Hae-hyo and Kim In-kwon.

Manga author Hitoshi Iwaaki commented after watching the trailer:
“I feel like they really respected the original work. However, I could see the ideas and innovations throughout and as the original author, I enjoyed watching it as a complete’audience’. The developments in each episode are significant, well-paced and very entertaining.”

Parasitic life forms that live off human hosts attempt to grow their power and disrupt society. A group of people wage war against rising evil.
Hitoshi Iwaaki’s Parasyte manga was published as Kodansha’s Morning Open Zokan from August to October 1989 before moving to the monthly Afternoon magazine from August 1989 to December 1994. It also had a spin-off manga titled Parasyte Reversi was serialized in Kodansha’s Comic Days from March 2018 to May 2021.
Kodansha USA licensed the original manga in English, describing the plot as:
They arrived in silence and darkness. They fell from the sky. They crave human flesh. They are everywhere. They are parasites, alien creatures that must invade — and control — their human hosts to survive. And once infected, they can assume any deadly form they choose: monsters with giant teeth, devils with wings, creatures with blades in their hands. But most have chosen to hide their lethal intent behind a normal human face. So no one knows their secret – except an ordinary high school student. Shin is fighting for control of his own body against an alien parasite, but can he find a way to warn humanity of the horror to come?
Madhouse’s Parasyte-the maxim-anime adaptation aired from October 2014 to March 2015 for 24 episodes. The film was also adapted into a two-part Japanese live-action film in 2014-2015.
