Doga Kobo's popular anime series Oshi no Ko has teamed up with Movic, part of major anime retailer Animate, to launch a new wristwatch inspired by Ai Hoshino, a hugely influential figure whose unmistakable features are reminiscent of her character.
The anime and merchandise company has announced a new collaboration watch with the Oshi no Ko anime series via PR Times. The watch, priced at 19,800 yen (~$139), is inspired by the popular character Ai Hoshino, who appeared primarily in the early parts of the first season and continues to be the driving force behind the rest of the series. The watch face is reminiscent of Ai's gradient pattern and the starry eyes common to the Hoshino family. It also features a rabbit emblem to match Ai's hair accessory, while her signature and the Oshi no Ko logo are both engraved on the back. The watch went up for pre-order on August 30, with orders ending on October 2, 2024. You can see images and more information below.

The Ai Hoshino watch is available in Animate stores, the Animate Online Store, and via Movic Mail Order in Japan, meaning interested buyers will need to use a trusted authorized shipping service for overseas shipping. The watch follows several similar anime collaborations; Ufotable’s Kara no Kyoukai received a limited edition watch from SEIKO, coming shortly after SEIKO’s One Piece watch pair, inspired by the “Egghead” arc and to celebrate the series’ 25th anniversary. Psycho-Pass, Attack on Titan, Hatsune Miku, and more have also received watch collaborations in recent months.
Like clockwork, fans are counting down the days until the live-action Oshi no Ko TV series and film premiere. Toei and Amazon have teamed up to bring the series to the big screen, confirming a worldwide release this December. HIDIVE is streaming the hugely successful anime adaptation, describing the second season, which is currently airing: “Aqua’s desire for revenge comes into focus as he navigates the dark underworld of show business alongside his twin sister, Ruby. While Ruby follows in her deceased mother’s footsteps to become an idol, Aqua joins a famous theater troupe in hopes of uncovering clues to the identity of her father—the man who orchestrated their mother’s untimely death, and the man who may have connections to the same troupe Aqua hopes to infiltrate.”
