Oshi no Ko is currently only two episodes away from the end of the first season. The series premiered in April and quickly became one of the spring’s most popular anime series, going up against the likes of Demon Slayer, Hell’s Paradise, Vinland Saga, etc. The series was adapted from manga of the same name by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. The former is also the creator of the hit rom-com series Kaguya-Sama: Love is War.
Although the anime was a success, it also caused controversy due to the plot heavily involving the death of a Japanese wrestler named Hana Kimura. This recently became serious after a group of followers flagged the fandom for harassing the Kimura family. Despite this, the plot has received critical acclaim for the reality TV’s dark reviews.
