Typical Dragon Balls of seven dragon pearls has been used extensively over the years, usually to resurrect people from the dead so they can return to battle. However, on one occasion, the Dragon Balls were used to bring back most of the people on Earth. However, one lucky person did not need to be resurrected, and that man was Mr. Satan.
In Buu Saga, things get pretty dark. At one point, Dragon Ball’s most sinister villain, Majin Buu, raged across the planet, cannibals left and right, and when he restored to his original form, he finally did. destroy the entire planet. A handful of people were brought to Kai’s World. Dende, because without him the Dragon Balls wouldn’t exist; Goku and Vegeta, who are no longer alive; Mr. Satan; and Buu’s dog, Bee. Since Goku, Vegeta, and Dende are not humans, Mr. Satan becomes the sole survivor in the universe for a short period of time.
Mr. Satan is the only human in Dragon Ball Z that never respawns
In the end, Buu went to Kai’s World to fight, but Goku had a plan. Sending Dende to New Namek, he can use the Namekian Dragon Balls to wish for the Earth to come back to life, as well as resurrect all those who have been killed since the start of the World Martial Arts Tournament. Using their energy for a mental bomb, Goku was finally able to defeat Buu, and that day was saved.
The method of resurrecting humans with the Dragon Balls has changed a few times throughout the series. Originally, Earth’s dragon balls could only bring a person back to life once; if they die again, they cannot respawn. That will obviously have a pretty big impact once everyone on Earth has used up their “freebie” deaths, but fortunately, the Namekian Dragon Balls don’t have this particular problem. Either way, one is clearly much better off if not resurrected once before, but the only one who can claim that title now is Mr. Satan. Of course, anyone born after the Buu story would join that little club as well, but for a brief time Mr. Satan was not only the last human but also the only one who never died and revived.
While Satan’s situation is certainly a unique one in seven dragon pearlsupgrading the Dragon Balls has ensured that this mass respawn of everyone but him will not have any negative consequences, should a similar solution be needed in the future.
