Warning: One-Punch Man Chapter #185 Content RevealedOne-Punch Man Fans have been joking about an S-Class hero’s attachment to a certain monster, and the latest chapter has those fans going wild, as Flashy-Flash begins his quest Manako.
Manako (AKA Oculette, in English translation) is a Cyclopean monster that Saitama and Flashy-Flash came to know while in the Monster Association headquarters. In fact, Manako was present when Saitama and Flashy-Flash saw “God”, an evil, all-powerful being that seemed to want to destroy humanity. That’s exactly why Flashy-Flash is on the hunt for Manako, as he hopes to unravel the mysteries surrounding this powerful character, and Manako as a monster may have a unique insights. Of course, that didn’t stop fans from joking that his “real” motive was to reunite with his beloved.
Flashy-Flash and Manako are One-Punch Man’s biggest crack ships
Manako is initially afraid of Flashy-Flash, recognizing him as an S-Class hero, but agrees to lead them away from the base to avoid being killed. Saitama asked Flashy-Flash to watch over Manako as they escaped, which caused an initial wave of interest in the strange pairing. When Flashy-Flash was defeated by Platinum Sperm, Manako desperately tried to wake him up and was nearly destroyed by Sweet Mask as a result. Flashy-Flash returned the favor by telling the other heroes that Manako was “a strange animal” and not a monster.
With Saitama capturing the Over Growing Rover and Black Sperm monsters following the Monster Association’s defeat, many fans speculated whether Flashy-Flash would capture Manako in a similar way. Manako’s fate is so far unclear, as she was not seen after Garou’s defeat. Chapter 185 opens with Flashy-Flash interrogating a monster, asking about the whereabouts of both God and Manako. While he didn’t get an answer, Flashy-Flash’s interest in finding Manako rebooted the meme ship, with some fans joking that the ship was finally confirmed. At the very least, it confirmed that Manako was no longer under Flashy-Flash’s protection, as many fans believed he was hiding her somewhere.
The trio of Saitama, Manako, and Flashy-Flash had good chemistry in the Monster Association HQ scenes, and it looks like the upcoming story could see all three again in a new adventure. Flashy-Flash has recognized Saitama’s worth at least a little bit and seems intent on teaming up with him again. While Flashy-Flash and Manako may never really be a couple in One-Punch Manfans can at least expect a bit of banter between them in the future.
