The character Amai Mask (sometimes translated as Sweet Mask) in Man one punch may be popular in-universe, but he gives readers a very different impression due to his aggressive personality and disdain for Saitama and other popular characters. However, his brutal death in chapter 139 at the hands of Fuhrer Ugly felt a bit too cruel for a character who was still nominally a hero, as he was torn in half out of jealousy for his appearance. The scene was certainly shocking, but the real surprise was in chapter 157 of One-Punch Man, where Amai Mask ended up not dead.
Amai Mask first appears as Class A’s top hero, giving interviews and appearing before a public that loves him largely for his looks. The character’s dark side emerged when he confronted Genos, revealing that Amai Mask considered himself the gatekeeper for class S, and did not appreciate Genos shooting straight to the top when he signed up to be a hero. More recently, he was also the only A-rank hero to personally participate in the attack on the Monster Association headquarters, and his quick defeat showed that the Hero Association was right in not sending anyone. Anyone with a lower rank enters.
One-Punch Man Suggests Renewable Amai Mask
Chapter 157 mysteriously opens with Amai Mask waking up intact, even though he was previously shown to have been clearly cut in half. His face was also hit by Fuhrer Ugly’s “face destroying punch” but remained equally intact. When he stood up, there was no one around except for a man he didn’t recognize, who was eventually revealed to be a miniature version of the S-class hero, the Pig God. What’s even stranger is that, despite his horrific injuries, Amai Mask’s main concerns were his pants torn when he was cut in half, and his claims of revenge against the Fuhrer Ugly (which had been defeat) does not even mention his physical damage.
Amai Mask’s regeneration ability is a unique ability in One-Punch Man
Since only a few hours passed between chapters 139 and 157, it seems Amai Mask has some kind of superpower regeneration ability, which is very unique among One-Punch Man’s heroes. The only other character with such abilities is Zombieman, who is apparently the result of an experiment at the House of Evolution, and is therefore not considered by some to be fully human. Between what has been shown about Garou’s transformation and the truth about Zombieman, evidence suggests that Amai Mask may not be entirely human either, despite his appearance. If confirmed, this reveal would be especially ironic, as Amai Mask previously accused Zombieman of secretly becoming a monster in chapter 91, when the truth is that Amai Mask is pretty much one himself. object, if not closer.
It is unclear if the other heroes are aware of Amai Mask’s apparent death; Zombieman and Child Emperor were so close that they could have witnessed it happen, but no one seemed to react to it. How One-Punch Man’s S-rank heroes will react knowing this can be quite exciting, but fans will have to wait for the next chapters of the series. Man one punch heart out.
