It's hard to believe, but this year marks the 15th anniversary of One Punch Man. While the anime debuted in 2015, we first met Saitama and his allies in 2009. Initially, creator ONE didn't expect much when he posted One-Punch Man on a manga publishing website. Due to its humorous setting and story, One-Punch Man has become famous in Japan and around the world.
Recently, ONE made the fan community crazy with a surprise update. The artist posted a link to the One-Punch Man web comic, revealing that he had just posted chapter 151.
The new chapter was not expected in any way, and ONE said the update was a birthday gift for fans.
One-Punch Man chapter 151 officially released
Interestingly, the birthday in question has nothing to do with One-Punch Man himself or the famous characters of the manga. Instead, the birthday belongs to ONE. This artist was born on October 29, 1986. To celebrate his 38th birthday, ONE posted chapter 151 of One-Punch Man.
If you didn't know ONE has a birthday this month, don't be sad. The artist behind One-Punch Man is a private person. ONE, also known professionally as Tomohiro, started drawing web comics in the 2000s with very few goals in mind. Without a publisher, ONE drew what he liked and his work became a viral hit.
Ultimately, One-Punch Man was licensed by Shueisha with the help of artist Yusuke Murata. ONE and Murata teamed up to create the One-Punch Man manga for Weekly Young Jump, and the superhero satire has exploded since then. From a hit anime series to several video games, One-Punch Man is known worldwide, but ONE has not forgotten its early roots.
As for ONE, the artist completed Mob Psycho 100 a few years ago, another of his web comics that became a global phenomenon after being adapted into an anime. Nowadays, he is busy with new projects including Versus. After making a short spin-off of Mob Psycho 100, ONE launched Versus in 2022. The series currently has three volumes and the heroic fantasy can be found in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Sirius.
