The son of One Punch Man manga illustrator Yusuke Murata came in 2nd place in Japan's national high school bodybuilding competition. This is the equivalent of what all the main characters in sports anime 'koshien' (national) usually strive for and it brings together contestants from all over the country to Tokyo to compete. He competes in the 170cm and under category.
The famous artist and animator proudly posted this on his X account, sharing that his eldest son came in second and thanking everyone for their support.
His son also shared the achievement on his own personal X account. He wrote that it was disappointing but that he would continue to work hard. In his bio, he shared his love of illustration and muscles as well as his goal of reaching 10,000 followers. He competes in the 170cm and under category.
