MegaHouse has revealed its latest One Piece collection, and this piece perfectly embodies the Death Surgeon’s attitude and swagger.
Available for pre-order on Sideshow, the Trafalgar D. Water Law statue recreates the look of the fan-favorite character from the Wano Country installment. In the image sitting with the cursed sword Kikuko on his shoulder, Law exudes pure confidence and authority. The item comes with interchangeable hands allowing for multiple posing options and is expected to begin shipping in May 2024.
One Piece’s Impressive Collectible Characters
The Law statue has an impressive price tag of $242; however, that amount is insignificant compared to the retail price of some of the other recently released One Piece collectibles. In particular, Jimei Palace and Sideshow are currently taking pre-orders for the statue of Pirate Queen Boa Hancock stealing hearts, priced at $886. Showcasing the Snake Princess in her signature dark red outfit and including her loyal snake companion Salome, this item clearly pays homage to Devil Fruits. Hancock’s Mero Mero no Mi Paramecia, giving her the power to turn anyone attracted by her beauty to stone.
Furthermore, Jimei Palace has also revealed a set of immortals during the time protagonist Monkey D. Luffy undergoes training under the tutelage of Shadow King Silver Rayleigh. Retailing for $433, the statue depicts the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates munching on some meat while wrapped in countless bandages. The First Mate of the Roger Pirates stood nearby with a terrifying looking mace in hand.
First appearing in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine in 1997, Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece is the best-selling manga of all time, with over 516 million copies in circulation worldwide. The story follows Luffy and his eclectic crew of pirates as they sail across the Grand Line in search of hidden treasure. Mangaka has confirmed that the series has entered its final story line, but he also assured readers that the story won’t end anytime soon.
One Piece fans have more to get excited about than new expensive collectibles and the manga’s upcoming epic ending. Most notably, the Netflix live-action adaptation of Oda’s masterpiece will premiere on August 31, 2023. The trailer highlights Iñaki Godoy’s Luffy and Mackenyu’s Roronoa Zoro, while giving viewers a glimpse of the massive settings built from the film.
VIZ Media distributes the One Piece manga in North America, and the anime adaptation by Toei Animation is available to stream on Hulu, Netflix, and Crunchyroll.
