As reported by Netflix Anime, the series will be remade and will be exclusive to Netflix. There’s no release date yet, but considering the importance of this announcement, it’s bound to come sooner rather than later.

Wit Studio’s One Piece manages to improve the pacing and animation of the original
The announcement was made at Jump Festa 2024 to end this year’s exciting event with many explosive news such as the ending of the manga Jujutsu Kaisen or the movie Chainsaw Man. Despite all those great announcements, no one could have predicted that One Piece would get a remake. The project will be produced by Netflix and animated by Wit Studio, the animation studio behind Attack On Titan and the pre-MAPPA Vinland Saga, as well as the upcoming Suicide Squad: Isekai anime. The anime’s cast has not yet been revealed.
There are few studios as perfect for this remake as Wit Studio, as they were able to fix the problems fans had with the main anime. Although One Piece is a masterpiece, it cannot avoid criticism. From the lackluster animation in the first few hundred episodes due to technological limitations to the terrible pacing that still persists, Wit Studio’s remake of the series is a treat. The studio is known for its stunning visuals and fidelity to what they are adapting, with no filler or pacing issues, things that the main anime has suffered from. This will attract interested fans who have been turned away because of these issues.
