How Saint Saturn, One of the Five Elders, Died
Saint Saturn and the other elders first appeared in One Piece Manga chapter #233
Since their world-shaking appearance, the Five Elders of One Piece have been hinted at as the supreme leaders of the world, who have ruled with an iron fist for hundreds of years. Not long into the story, it was revealed that The highest authorities of the World Government serve the secret king of the worldImu, who has no remorse for committing brutal acts of genocide and even wiping out entire islands full of innocent civilians. And somehow, chap #1125 makes them even more terrifying.
Saturn's death proves that the secret ruler of the world has empowered the Five Elders with a strange black mist.
The World Government's hierarchy of power changes when Imu reveals another of their terrifying powers, one that can easily kill Saint Saturn. After the shocking revelation that Saint Figarland Garling has been promoted to the new God of Science and Defense Warrior, hundreds of miles away, Saturn begins to clutch his throat, screaming in his ship's cabin still on the shores of Egghead Island. Imu's voice echoes in his head as a voice of punishment and revenge for the Elder's failure to let Luffy, whom Imu considers the powerful Joyboy, escape. What happens next is one of the least ambiguous deaths in One Piece to date.
Imu, arguably the biggest villain of One Piece, has achieved some form of immortality, which has allowed them to rule the world for over 800 years. However, Saturn's death proves that The secret ruler of the world empowers the Five Elders with a strange black mist banished from the former warrior god of science and defense. The Mists of Imu seem to grant the Elders the power to transform into mythical beasts, reincarnate, and live long lives without their bodies aging. Following Saturn's example, Imu has the ability to take away that power. from those to whom He gives and gives to others.
Why Saturn Deserved the Brutal Death It Suffered
The Egghead Arc is considered the beginning of the final Saga of One Piece.
The Celestial Dragons and the Five Elders have been involved in many dastardly events before, but the Egghead arc takes their reputation for evil to a whole new level. Aside from Luffy's crew and Dr. Vegapunk, the arc also focuses heavily on the incredibly tragic story of Jewelry Bonney and her father, Bartholomew Kuma, whose history is perhaps the saddest in One Piece. At some point in the former Warlord of the Sea's life, Saint Saturn caused him unforgivable suffering.
The mysterious events of the God Valley incident brought Elder Saturn and a very young, recently orphaned slave boy, Kuma, together for the first time. Saturn later told the young Buccaneer that his people deserved to disappear from Earth, but that he would be worse off years later. One of Kuma's closest friends, Ginny, was later kidnapped and forced to marry a Celestial Dragon against her will and experimented on along with her daughter, Bonney. Saturn's experiments with twisted science resulted in Ginny's death and infected her daughter. with a terminal illness.
Kuma's life mission is to care for Bonney, and to that end, he travels the world to find a cure for his adopted daughter before the disease takes her life. He eventually finds someone who can help and who becomes a close friend, Dr. Vegapunk. However, he is under the control of the World Government, working under none other than Saint Saturn. After discovering Kuma's plight, Saturn made a deal that would trade Bonney's health for Kuma's body. and free will. Choices that ruined many lives and ultimately led to the Five Elders' most shameful defeat.
Joyboy's Haki blast hit the Five Elders and caused those summoned to Egghead Island to return to the Heavenly Dragon's homeland of Mary Geoise.
Both Kuma and Bonney retaliated with satisfying attacks on the giant Saint Saturn after he came to Egghead to kill Dr. Vegapunk. However, chapter #1125 revealed another decision by the Elder that led to his defeat: resisting orders to destroy the super-advanced Iron Giant out of his scientific curiosity. This giant robot form turned out to be ancient, sentient, and a staunch ally of Joyboy, who gifted the Giant with a significant burst of Haki that activated at the moment he chose to allow the Straw Hats to escape from Egghead, stunning Imu and depowering the Five Elders.
The Egghead incident was largely Saturn's fault.
Saturn's demotion resulted in a promotion for Figarland Garling
Author Eiichiro Oda may later focus on the backstories of the remaining Elders and the terrible wrongdoings they have committed in the past. However, Saturn's actions explained throughout the Egghead arc easily depict one of the most despicable characters to date, having toyed with the lives of good people and killed countless others. The former Elder's involvement with Ginny, Bonney, Kuma, and the Iron Giant Emet is directly related to Luffy's escape and Dr. Vegapunk revealing incriminating information about the World Government to the masses. However, Imu and the remaining Elders are likely preparing to cause even more suffering ahead. One piececonclusion of.
