Through the official One Piece Staff X account (formerly Twitter), One Piece and SEIKO have collaborated on a new “Egghead” and 25th anniversary watch. The ONE PIECE x SEIKO TV Anime MEMORIAL EDITION 25th Anniversary Watch is priced at 49,800 yen (~$334) and will start shipping in February 2025, followed by the ONE PIECE x SEIKO EGGHEAD Edition 25th Anniversary Watch (sold by Toei), which is priced at 48,400 yen (~$325) and will start shipping in April 2025. SEIKO's New One Piece Anniversary Watch Features Luffy, Red-Haired Shanks, and More
The Memorial Edition watch comes in a special wooden collector's box featuring the Straw Hat Pirates' Jolly Roger skull and crossbones. It's designed to look like a treasure chest inside and comes with a postcard of Shanks handing over the Straw Hat to Luffy. The dial features several Straw Hat motifs, such as words of gratitude to Luffy and Shanks' crew; the “One Piece 25th” logo is also engraved on the back of the watch. Also on the back is an edition number from 1-5000, emphasizing the limited edition nature of the watch. “As time goes by,” the watch is introduced, “this exquisite adult chronograph is a perfect fit for Luffy, who has joined Shanks as one of the Four Emperors. With this precious timepiece, limited to 5,000 pieces, you can continue your romantic adventure.” The Egghead version comes in a simpler white box, with the watch face featuring tributes to Luffy's Straw Hat, as well as Dr. Egghead's lab and an apple head. Toei is selling this product, noting that the watch changes color depending on the light.
SEIKO has previously collaborated with One Piece on a Gear 5-inspired watch, as well as releasing commemorative editions of the One Piece Film: Red, the release of the anime’s 1000th episode, the anime’s 20th anniversary, the Luffy-Ace-Sabo watch, and more. In addition to One Piece, SEIKO has collaborated with Blue Lock, Haruhi Suzumiya, and Gintama, among other popular anime and manga brands. Watches continue to be a highly sought-after item among anime fans, often due to their sophistication and practicality. Jujutsu Kaisen announced a watch collaboration earlier this year, shortly after releasing a smartwatch.
