Warning: Potential SPOILERS for episode #1084 of One PieceThe A piece The anime will soon finish adapting the Wano Arc and it will do so to fix the original ending. A common criticism of the Wano Arc is the rushed nature of the ending; despite being the longest, it still leaves many plot points unresolved, including some involving Zoro and his family legacy.
Luckily, it looks like the Wano Arc version of the One Piece anime will fix some of the problems with the manga’s ending. Although there is only one chapter of the Wano Arc left for the anime to adapt, One Piece episode #1084, “Time to Depart – The Land of Wano and the Straw Hats”, will instead expand on the final days of the gang. Straw Hat pirates in Wano.
Based on the preview, said episode will be used to cover content that the manga was criticized for omitting, and while that won’t fix all of the ending’s problems, it will still improve everything.
One Piece Episode #1084 preview hints at big changes to Wano’s ending
The preview for One Piece episode #1084 suggests that the ending of the Wano Arc will be expanded upon, and there are definitely some plot points that need to be addressed. First, Carrot disappeared from the manga after being appointed as the new ruler of the Mokomo Principality, so episode #1084 could have been used to help her properly break up with the Straw Hats. Another point that needs to be addressed is Zoro visiting Ryuma’s grave, something he said he wanted to do but never did, and it would also be a good opportunity to dig deeper into Zoro’s Shimotsuki lineage , which the manga hinted at, but was only discussed in SBS.
However, if there’s anything One Piece episode #1084 needs to mention, it’s a proper farewell between Luffy and Tama. Tama is said to be the emotional center of the Wano arc and Luffy’s main motivation when fighting Kaido, but the lack of interaction between the two of them in the later stages of the arc, including the lack of a farewell appropriate hand between them, has greatly reduced the attention. from there and made Tama less relevant. However, the preview for episode #1084 suggests that the main focus will be on Luffy and Tama’s relationship, so this is the perfect opportunity to finally give Tama a proper farewell.
One Piece cannot resolve everything about Wano’s ending
Yamato’s departure from the story would still be disappointing
One Piece #1084 could certainly fix a lot of things about the ending of the Wano arc, but unfortunately, there are some points where it can’t do anything. As mentioned before, one plot point that was omitted from the manga was the scene where Marco talks to Luffy, which was only shown in a flashback during the Egghead arc, and since the story had already passed the point where that happened. appears in chronological order so it’s unlikely that episode #1084 will include it. It’s true that they could change the time when Luffy and Marco talk, which has been done in the anime before, but it happens so infrequently that it’s not a plausible possibility now.
Another sticking point that cannot be resolved is that Yamato did not join the Straw Hat pirates. Of course, the anime couldn’t rewrite the canon to have Yamato join the crew, and just like Marco, the story has passed by the time Yamato reveals the real reason why he’s in Wano. Episode #1084 of A piece can be considered “filler” that the series needs to breathe a bit before diving into the new arc, but there are still a lot of things it could do to improve the overall story, thereby making the ending of the Wano Arc Even better than the manga.
