A piece just dropped an important hint about Blackbeard, and it could be the key to solving many of the biggest mysteries surrounding his character. The latest chapter of One Piece hints about Blackbeard’s special bloodlinereveals the possibility of the existence of a completely new race like the Buccaneers, which could explain many puzzling mysteries about Blackbeard and his abilities.
One Piece chapter #1107 reveals that the Blackbeard Pirates, specifically Titanic Captains Catarina Devon and Van Augur, have also arrived at Egghead. A special conversation between Saint Saturn and Catarina revealed that Blackbeard was of special blood, a fact that Saint Saturn also knew. Although this chapter does not provide any further hints as to what this lineage may bring, it is possible that Blackbeard may belong to another secret race such as the Buccaneers and Lunarians.
In fact, Blackbeard’s ancestors could explain many of his peculiarities, including his sleeping habits and his unique ability to use more than one Devil Fruit. This new race could also be one of the three races that Big Mom mentioned were missing in Totto Land.
Blackbeard may be of the last race that Big Mom is looking for
In chapter #951 of One Piece, Big Mom mentions three races that cannot be found in her territory – the Giantwho has a strained relationship with Big Mom, moon peoplein which King is the last survivor, and mysterious third race which Big Mom claims may have been “lost in the mists of time”. Blackbeard may have belonged to this nearly extinct and forgotten race.
Although they seem to fit the description, that is Not sure if Big Mom is talking about the Buccaneers. Based on Kuma’s backstory, it seems that the Buccaneers existed until recently and were quite famous among the nobles and commoners alike. Kuma is said to be 47 years old now, so the Buccaneer race still existed and was easily identifiable until half a decade ago. It’s also possible that Big Mom simply groups the Buccaneers along with the Giants as a subspecies since the Buccaneer race is said to carry the blood of the Giants.
While some fans theorize that Blackbeard could be a Buccaneer, he is does not fit the description of the Buccaneers other than his appearance. Blackbeard has shown no physical strength nor durability or any other powers associated with the Buccaneers. More importantly, if Blackbeard was a Buccaneer, Saturn would certainly say the same.
Big Mom’s choice of words to describe the third missing race implies that this race is believed to have long been extinct and almost completely forgotten. Therefore, it is very likely Blackbeard belongs to a new race that has not yet been introduced. The series also introduces Kuma and King’s lineage in a similar manner, setting the stage for their unique abilities and powers.
Blackbeard’s ancestors explain his abilities
Blackbeard’s special bloodline could explain why he was able to steal Whitebeard’s devil fruit powers and use them along with his devil fruit without any consequences, easily. is one of the biggest mysteries in One Piece. Blackbeard is currently the only individual in the series who can do this, and perhaps this can be explained by his genetics. Like King and Kuma, they both possess unique genetic traits and abilities, Blackbeard’s lineage may explain these strange occurrencesspecifically why he rarely slept as a child, as well as why Marco claimed Blackbeard had a strange body in Marineford.
Overall, black beard has been the subject of many strange theories since his introduction in A piece and the revelation of his mysterious parentage is likely to cause even more debate. Hopefully the series will put an end to these doubts in time for Luffy’s final rematch with Blackbeard.
