A One Piece animator has revealed the culmination of an important arc and fight in the popular anime series.
The long-running franchise, which spans more than 1,000 episodes, is now embroiled in the “Wano” season. The story is highlighted by the appearance of 5 Gear Luffy and his battle with the mighty dragon Kaido. Even without a 5th Gear, the anime was praised for how the two clashed on screen. Now, animator Henry Thurlow has revealed that the upcoming episode will conclude the battle between Luffy and Kaido.
One Piece enters an important phase
Henry Thurlow has a special place in One Piece history. He is an American animator but has worked on Japanese anime many times. He worked so well with the team that he became the first non-Japanese to direct an anime episode. Fans are fascinated by the power of Luffy’s 5th Gear, a form he unlocked during this battle. So when the battle is over, it will be interesting to see how Luffy defeats the dragon and what power he is able to gain.
The irony of 5th Gear Luffy is that it does not use typical anime images. Traditionally, when an anime protagonist or antagonist, depending on the series, receives a new level of power, it greatly depends on their energy and represents how powerful they are. them in attacks. However, with 5th Gear Luffy, he acts like a character equipped with Toon Force. It’s a direct reference to Western cartoons and shows like Looney Tunes, where the characters can basically do whatever they want without question or problem. Even Luffy said in the episode that he unlocked this form so he can do whatever he wants and he showed that with several attacks on Kaido.
The live-action adaptation of One Piece is now available on Netflix for those who want to watch the first part of Luffy’s adventure. The first season focused on many of the main events from the first part of the manga, and many fans were satisfied with how things were being done or changed for the better.
