When My Hero Academia author Kohei Horikoshi was asked if he liked All Might more than the other characters in his story, he said that it wasn't simply a matter of liking the hero, but that he “an absolute must in this series, so I have no choice because I have to like him.”
More than any other character, All Might shapes the story of the series, inspiring Deku to become a hero in the first place, guiding other aspiring young heroes, and serving as the “Symbol of Peace,” inspiring humanity and protecting them from evil.

Horikoshi explained that the words “this is important!” kept ringing in his head as he drew and wrote All Might's scenes, because he realized the importance of this powerful superhero in the story and how much he influences the other heroes around him. He is not only an inspiration to Deku, but also a well-known motivation for other aspiring heroes and even ordinary people, which is why he is nicknamed the “Symbol of Peace”. His signature catchphrase, “It’s okay now. Do you know why? Because I’m here!” brings further comfort to worried civilians, promising to protect them from the evil of villains at all costs.
All Might and Deku's stories are quite similar.
