Fans are invited to witness the happy union of Miyo Saimori and Kiyoka Kudou this July when My Happy Marriage is broadcast.
Netflix has released the second trailer for My Happy Marriage, the animated adaptation of the fantasy novel series. As reported by Anime News Network, the fantasy romance series will hit the Netflix platform on July 5. The second trailer opens with Miyo Saimori’s desperate declaration that she is unwanted and worthless. due to lack of supernatural powers. However, happiness may be within her reach when she meets her new husband. Fans will be able to hear a snippet of the opening theme song, “Anata no Soba ni” (By Your Side), performed by Riria, in the trailer. Kashitarō Itō will perform the ending theme song, “Itaphilosophy.”
The crew behind my happy marriage
Kinema Citrus will oversee the anime adaptation with director Takehiro Kubota. Takao Abo will write and supervise while Ami Satō, Takahito Ōnishi and Momoka Toyoda will write the script. Shōko Yasuda will join as the character designer, while Evan Call, who composed the soundtrack for Violet Evergarden, will compose for My Happy Marriage.
The Cast of My Happy Marriage
The cast for the anime includes notable voice actors. Reina Ueda, who voiced Akane Shinjō in SSSS. Gridman and Kanao Tsuyuri from Demon Slayer will voice Miyo. Kaito Ishikawa, whose most famous roles include Tenya Iida from My Hero Academia and Tobio Kageyama from Haikyuu!!, will take on the role of Kiyoka. Ayane Sakura, who plays Tsubaki Sawabe in Your Lie in April and Ochaco Uraraka in My Hero Academia, will voice Kana Saimori. Kōtarō Nishiyama, who plays Junnosuke Nakano from Aoashi, will play the role of Kōji Tatsuishi. Houko Kuwashima, Hiro Shimono, and Ryohei Kimura will voice Yuri, Yoshito Godō, and Arata Tsuruki, respectively.
Written by Akumi Agitogi and with illustrations by Tsukiho Tsukioka, My Happy Marriage takes place during the 19th-century Meiji Restoration, where Miyo Saimori is forced to marry commander Kiyoka Kudo, a man he was rumored to be sending his fiancées away within three days. Thinking her new life as a wife wouldn’t be too different from life at the hands of her terrible stepmother, Miyo realizes her husband isn’t as scary as rumored. My Happy Marriage was adapted from a manga in December 2018. The novel has also been adapted into a live-action film, opening in Japan on March 17, 2023.
My Happy Marriage premieres July 5 on Netflix worldwide.
