New Holo image promises bountiful harvest

Based on the original illustration, the character features Holo the Wise Wolf in a loose shirt with a waving expression, his tail slightly loose, and his right arm raised toward his face.

Picking up one of the cute figurines will set you back 25,300 yen (about $175). However, since pre-orders are open until October 16, you have plenty of time to find a business partner to fund your purchase. The DMM Factory Holo Shirt figure features paintwork by Shinya Suzuki, is sculpted by BBJ, and is scheduled to ship in August 2025, so the wait could be long. But assuming you’re in good health and exercising, the odds of surviving until next August are in your favor. Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets Wise Wolf, the animated remake of Spice and Wolf by Studio Passione, is streaming on Crunchyroll. The first season of the original anime, animated by Studio Imagin, aired as part of the Winter 2008 anime season. Its sequel aired as part of the Summer 2009 anime season and was animated by Marvy Jack and Brain's Base.

Based on the light novel by Isuna Hasekura (illustrated by Jyuu Ayakura), Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets Wise Wolf tells the story of Lawrence Craft, a traveling merchant who embodies the phrase “being in the right place at the right time.” One day, through sheer luck, he comes across the pagan village of Pasloe, where, unbeknownst to him, he picks up a most unlikely companion, a harvest deity named Holo. When he promises to take her home, the two travel together, and as they revel in all the beauty the world has to offer, their bond grows faster than the wheat that Holo once grew.
