A talented fan animation introduced Super Dragon Ball‘S Goku And Broly in a new epic training session that helps fans master the action and characters. Broly was reintroduced into the franchise in the 2018 film Dragon Ball Super: Broly, where his character received significant upgrades in both his powers and backstory. However, this improved character has sadly been absent from most of the latest versions of Dragon Ball Super and a skilled animator has decided to change that.
The Dragon Ball franchise has attracted millions of fans globally and has even inspired many to start learning how to animate their own projects. Legendary Super Saiyan Broly has starred in a number of projects that have surprised fans, turning this fan-favorite character into a force of nature that will take more than usual to fight. lose. However, Dragon Ball fan and skilled animator Eduardo Quintana has created something new that perfectly honors and develops Broly’s updated character in a short film called Dragon Ball Saisen – The Animated Manga.
Within 14 months, Eduardo created a short project in his spare time to witness the once horrifying scene. Legendary Super Saiyan fights Goku while training on Beerus’s planet. The 90-second project stems from Broly’s latest appearance – in the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie, which was recently adapted into a manga – showing him training with Goku and Vegeta on Beerus’ planet . The animation expands on that brief sequence, and it’s formatted like an extremely well-crafted manga chapter but with excellent animation and action. It has more character development from Broly than his entire original DBZ trilogy.
Eduardo’s fan animation develops Broly more than Dragon Ball has in years
Broly’s reappearance in the Dragon Ball franchise changed his backstory and turned the previously uncontrollable Legendary Super Saiyan into a more layered character. Even in the new series, abandoned Saiyans still occasionally suffer uncontrollable and planet-destroying rages. However, forming strong bonds with Goku, Vegeta, and Cheelai helped the character develop significantly. Eduardo’s cleverly crafted video demonstrates this beautifully by showing Broly nearly losing his powers after taking a hit from Goku. Instead of losing control, Broly recounts the new bonds he cherishes. However, the excellent character development doesn’t stop there.
Dragon Ball Saisen features extremely satisfying action and character development for Broly. After avoiding another crisis, the Legendary Saiyan gains control of a power that brings peace rather than rage. Pleased by the development, Goku smirks and the two continue to fight as the video ends. However, the tearful ending sees Broly throw away the last piece of clothing from the planet he grew up on, a scarf from the first friend he ever made, a vicious giant creature the name Baas, symbolizes that. Broly has completely moved on from the lonely brute of the past.
Eduardo Quintana made Broly a more interesting character
Broly’s debut in 1993’s Dragon Ball Z: Broly – The Legendary Super Saiyan introduced the titular character as a one-dimensional powerhouse intent on destroying Goku. Luckily, the 2018 movie retold that history and turned Broly into an innocent soul cursed with terrible powers. Eduardo Quintana’s fan project, Dragon Ball Saisen, not only demonstrates the animator’s talent for creating dynamic battles during Goku and Broly’s training session, but also demonstrates his understanding truly know the personalities of beloved characters. It may be a while before fans can see more of it Super Dragon Ballversion of Broly, but when that happens, fans can hope that his return will be half as satisfying as Eduardo’s excellent short film.
