NHK recently announced that the much-anticipated drama adaptation of Saya Miyauchi’s manga “Dog Signal” will premiere on October 22 at 5 p.m. (4:00 a.m. EDT) on NHK Education channel.
Directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi, famous for works like “Spy×Family” and the 1996 version of “Rurouni Kenshin”, this anime is ready to capture the hearts of viewers.

The story revolves around Miyu Samura, a novice dog trainer who begins being a pet parent when his ex-girlfriend leaves him a dog that he knows little about caring for.
Miyu’s life takes a dramatic turn when he accidentally meets Shinichirō Niwa, an experienced dog trainer. Under Shinichirō’s guidance, Miyu nervously embarks on a journey of transformation.
Along the way, he meets Ritsuka Izumi, a skilled pet caretaker, and Suzunosuke Kubō, a knowledgeable veterinarian, as Shinichirō introduces him to a world of newly discovered possibilities.
Miyauchi’s Saya Manga first appeared on Kadokawa’s Comic Bridge website in 2018 and has steadily grown in popularity over the years. Following growing expectations, Kadokawa will release the manga’s 10th volume on October 6.

Notably, it was Miyauchi who brought realism to the story, drawing from her own experience as a pet sitter.
