The annual event celebrating all things One Piece anime, manga, games, and more—One Piece Day '24—has now released its official report, live performance recaps, and information about the highly anticipated Netflix anime reboot THE ONE PIECE.
Through a press release, Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc., in collaboration with Shueisha Inc., and Toei Animation Co., Ltd., held the annual One Piece Day, spanning August 10 and 11, marking the first event. Starting with Day 1, notable highlights included a special message from the live-action series' Iñaki Godoy and the results of the “ONE PIECE Best Scenes Poll – Top 100 Scenes Production Crews Find Memorable” poll. Episode 312, “Thank you, Merry! Snow Falls Over the Parting Sea!”, was declared the most memorable scene by the anime staff, followed by Episode 706, “Advance, Law! The Kindhearted Man's Final Fight!” and Episode 37, “Luffy Rises! Result of the Broken Promise.” Team Ambivalent retains their title for the second Extreme Treasure Festival Tournament – the Finals – of One Piece Bounty Rush, and an official Roblox game for One Piece: ONE PIECE GRAND ARENA will be released this winter. All of the above events were on the One Piece Open Stage, along with the LIVE Area event list below, which can be viewed via a paid streaming version. Day 1's LIVE Area featured performances by Mori Callope, GRe4N BOYZ, One Piece opening vocalist Hiroshi Kitadani, and ending vocalist Maki Otsuki, in front of a massive crowd of around 6,000 fans. TERU is the lead singer of GLAY, one of Eiichiro Oda's favorite bands. Last year, he received illustrations from the legendary artist himself, leading to his shocking appearance this year. He appeared in “We Are! For the new world” with Kitadani and GRe4N BOYZ, where Kitadani said, “It's great to be able to say 'We Are!' to all of you!” Teru agreed, saying, “Everyone, thank you very much!!” to close out the first day of ONE PIECE DAY '24.
Netflix's One Piece Anime Remake Gets Major Production Update
Fans around the world eagerly awaited the second day of ONE PIECE DAY '24, which kicked off with a lively performance by Kitadani and Otsuki before the big news was announced. The first concept art for THE ONE PIECE remake series was revealed, with industry heavyweights such as Attack on Titan's Masashi Koizuka revealed as staff. He will serve as the series' director and will be assisted by assistant director Hideaki Abe (Jujutsu Kaisen). Koizuka's message to fans promised to make THE ONE PIECE “an anime that will be loved by both those who have seen it and those who are new to it!” Fans can listen to his message and the full production presentation below.

One Piece Partners With Sony To Launch New Line Of Anime Exclusive Headphones
The One Piece anime is teaming up with Sony to launch an exclusive line of anime-themed headphones featuring Monkey D. Luffy and company.
Following the production update of THE ONE PIECE, it was revealed that a new mobile app, One Piece Base, is in development. With the above trailer’s prominent focus on the manga, the “Eiichiro Oda/Shueisha” copyright, and the mysterious message: “All your adventures in one app. Details to be revealed soon,” fans can expect One Piece Base to be a manga reading app dedicated to One Piece.
The original One Piece manga and Toei anime series have now broken records
While manga previously broke the Guinness World Record for “most copies published for the same manga series by a single author,” now it’s anime’s turn to break the record. Toei Animation’s One Piece manga broke the record for most DVD releases of an anime television series, with 300 episodes published. Luffy’s voice actress Mayumi Tanaka received a certificate on behalf of everyone who worked on the series. Finally, on the Open Stage, nine Straw Hats and seven Vegapunk voice actors held a special live broadcast for MUGIWARA Space, a weekly radio show that airs every Sunday from 1:00 AM to 1:30 AM. The broadcast was described as a huge success.

One Piece Author Honors My Hero Academia With Emotional New Chapter Artwork
One Piece's Eiichiro Oda paid tribute to the author of My Hero Academia by adding an emotional flashback to his newly released chapter 1122.
The live area saw an expanded song list, including the voice actors of the Straw Hat crew, music artist Ado, Japanese boy band BE:FIRST, and the returning Maki Otsuki and Hiroshi Kitadani. BE:FIRST will also perform the anime's next ending theme, with more details to be announced in the fall. Franky voice actor Kazuki Yao was unable to attend One Piece Day '24 due to illness, making for a special moment as the audience and performers on stage shouted “SUPER!” in solidarity.
