Netflix has revealed the first official trailer and first images of the upcoming live-action television adaptation Yu Yu Hakusho. The film is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on December 14, 2023.
The trailer introduces main character Yusuke Urameshi learning about supernatural forces in his world.

The live-action series is directed by Shou Tsukikawa (Kimi wa Tsukiyo ni Hikari Kagayaku, Soshite Ikiru), with Robot Communications serving as the series production company, who previously worked on the Netflix live-action project action Alice in Borderland. Tatsurou Mishima (Sam no Koto) is credited as the scriptwriter for the majority of the episodes.

The live-action film Yu Yu Hakusho is based on the supernatural action manga by Yoshihiro Togashi, serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from December 3, 1990 to July 25, 1994. Nineteen tankoubon volumes have been published. released in total.
The manga inspired the anime adaptation from 1992 to 1995 and is currently available to stream on Netflix, Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Hulu. It also inspired an anime film, a 2018 OVA, a video game adaptation, and a stage adaptation in 2019.
