Hot on the heels of Prime Video's Fallout and HBO's The Last of Us, Netflix is gearing up for an upcoming anime-style adaptation of the Tomb Raider video game series. The latest update on the iconic video game heroine includes a release date and a new trailer for her upcoming animated adventure.
Netflix's official YouTube channel recently released a new trailer, watch it below, and confirmed the release date for Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft. The anime-style series will premiere on October 10, 2024. Hayley Atwell, best known for playing Agent Peggy Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will play Lara Croft in the Netflix animated series. Other voices include Earl Baylon as Jonah Maiava and Allen Maldonado as Zip. This will be Zip's first appearance in a new Tomb Raider project since Tomb Raider: Underworld released in 2008.

Further details about the Tomb Raider animated series are still scarce, but the show will bridge the gap between the 2013 reboot series and the original PlayStation games. Tasha Huo (The Witcher: Blood Origin) is credited as showrunner. Powerhouse Animation Studios, the Texas-based animation studio behind Masters of the Universe, Skull Island and Castlevania: Nocturne, is behind the film's production. The Legend of Lara Croft is not connected to Amazon's upcoming Tomb Raider live-action series produced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
