More than a year ago, Studio Ghibli released a special gift for My Neighbor Totoro fans – a three-tiered wind chime featuring the film's beloved mascot. Now, this Totoro special has made a triumphant return to Ghibli's online store.
Recently, Donguri Sora's “Big Three-Size Wind Chimes and Small Totoro” officially returned to the store's expanded digital catalog. As the name suggests, the product possesses all three famous satyr versions; a notable detail is that of most of Donguri Sora's Totoro-themed merchandise, only the large Totoro is considered Ghibli's official mascot. Because wind chimes (or fuurin) are especially popular in Japanese households during the summer, these chimes are also included in Donguri Sora's “traditional summer items” category. The retail price, which has been revised since the 2023 release, is 2,750 yen (about $17.52 USD).

Typically, Japanese wind chimes have a long strip of colored paper called “tanzaku” designed to easily catch the wind. As shown in the images above, the Totoro-themed bell also features a tanzaku, depicting a cute, chibi-style version of Totoro along with a black sooty bird.
