My Hero Academia has released the first stills for the upcoming original anime episode of the series titled “My Hero Academia: UA Heroes Battle.”
As reported on the official My Hero Academia website, the previously announced special episode is based on a card game also titled “UA Heroes Battle” created by the UA support layer. This episode is a filler for Season 6 of My Hero Academia and will premiere before the series’ seventh season, which is expected to premiere sometime in 2024.
“UA Heroes Battles” aired at NYCC and theaters in Japan
The My Hero Academia special will premiere at New York Comic Con on October 13, 2023 before releasing in Japan. The episode will be shown from October 20 to October 27, 2023 in 10 theaters across Japan. Viewers will receive postcards with two main images: “UA Hero Battle” and “Deku Returns.” The official synopsis of the episode reads: “Third year, Mirio Togata, visits the students of Class 1-A, who are bored because they are not allowed to go out. He brings them a card game called UA Heroes Battle. Support courses are taken. This game, where players can use the cards of many different UA students, is very difficult, just like UA itself. Who will win in the card battle?!” The episode takes place at the same time as the “Effort Practice” arc.
My Hero Academia tells the story of Izuku Midoriya, who wants nothing more than to become a hero despite being born without a Quirk. His life changed forever from the day he met his own hero, All Might, and gained his powers. He then enrolled in the number one hero school, UA, where he faced many challenges and made friends such as Ochara Uraraka and Tenya Ida. My Hero Academia has been a huge success globally. With six successful seasons, three movies, and Kohei Horikoshi’s popular manga series in the works, fans are sure to be excited for the release of new episodes as they wait for the seventh season and fourth movie of My Hero Academia has been confirmed to air.
“My Hero Academia: UA Heroes Battle” premieres at NYCC on October 13, 2023 and airs in theaters in Japan from October 20 to October 27, 2023. The My Hero Academia anime series is currently streaming airs on Crunchyroll, Funimation and DIRECTV.
