Warning: Contains spoilers for Chapter #406 of My Hero Academia.
Chapter #406 of My Hero Academia acknowledges Tokoyami’s strength, showing that he can be on par with top heroes like Endeavor and All Might. Tokoyami’s Dark Shadow played a key role in taking down All For One, possibly leaving a lasting mark on him. Although removed from battle, Tokoyami’s journey to discover Dark Shadow’s true potential could make him one of the new top heroes.
My Hero AcademyThe Last War of the Worlds gave every heroic student a chance to shine, but one surprising student among them may have made it to the top ranks. Tokoyami’s Shadow Quirk has always been impressive, but now even the ultimate villain All For One recognizes him as one of the top opponents he has faced.
Although Class 1-A’s Fumikage Tokoyami has spent most of the series in the dark, the latest chapter of My Hero Academia finally acknowledges the mark he left on All For One through the battle their brief match earlier in this installment. In fact, this chapter shows that Tokoyami may have even reached the level of top heroes like Endeavor and All Might.
In Chapter #406 of My Hero Academia, while fighting Bakugo, All For One notes that Dark Shadow and Endeavor have stronger moves than Bakugo. While this thinking positions Bakugo as a threat in the eyes of All For One, it unintentionally acknowledges that Tsukuyomi and Endeavor are both real threats to a similar degree. This means that Tokoyami’s Dark Shadow could be on par with My Hero Academia’s other top pro heroes, which is a bit surprising.
All For One acknowledges Tokoyami as a significant threat
Dark Shadow is so powerful that it impresses even the strongest My Hero Academia villain.
Although the battle against Tokoyami, Endeavor, and the Hawks was short-lived as the group was barely able to take down All For One in the long run, Tokoyami’s Quirk played a vital role in the process. As the only Quirk that can hold back All For One in Endeavor’s absence without the risk of him stealing it, Dark Shadow seems to have left a lot of its mark on All For One.
While one could argue that Tokoyami’s Darkness only reached its peak thanks to the optimal conditions created by Shiketsu’s students, Baldur’s Light is still an impressive technique of terrifying intensity . Regardless of its limitations, Dark Shadow is a Quirk with limitless potential, and Tokoyami’s journey to understand and unleash its true potential finally reaches its climax in this chapter of My Hero Academy.
That said, it looks like Tokoyami’s journey may end here as he’s effectively been eliminated from the fight, making it unlikely he or Dark Shadow will get another chance to shine. However, perhaps when the dust of the war finally settles and My Hero AcademyNew top heroes appear at the end, Tokoyami will also be among them.
