A new Ochaco x Toga trailer celebrating the release of My Hero Academia Volume 39, which begins in Japan today (November 2, 2023), has been posted to Shonen Jump’s official YouTube channel. Their official Twitter/X account has issued a spoiler warning for comments, and we at Anime Corner are issuing a warning for the second trailer, so be wary if you haven’t caught up yet . The hour-long “BGM Best Friends” video introduces Toga and Uraraka in an alternate reality, growing up as best friends since childhood. Scenes of the couple playing in beautiful parks as children until graduating from school are repeated, designed to be enjoyed as background music. The second video depicts the struggle between the couple due to their different circumstances, with lines from the manga.

Kohei Horikoshi’s Boku no Hero Academia manga first debuted in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014 and has been collected into 39 volumes as of November 2, 2023. The series is translated by its North American licensor by VIZ Media manga titled My Hero Academia. The manga has spawned a successful film and anime series, with an upcoming fourth film announced with a teaser image in August 2023. Season 7 was also previously announced in March, adding Romi Park to the cast.
VIZ Media describes the manga: Midoriya inherits the superpowers of the world’s greatest hero, but greatness will not come easily.
