Warning! Contains spoilers for My Hero Academia Chapter 384! The latest chapter of My Hero Academy drew a surprising connection between deku and the monstrous Gigantomachia give the villain a surprising amount of depth. Kohei Horikoshi’s manga is currently in the midst of its final war arc, which has seen the fantastic reappearance of many supporting characters finally having their time to shine. Gigantomachia is no different as his return to the story proves that he is more than just the towering mountain of anger as he seems.
Although Gigantomachia may have reappeared in My Hero Academia chapter 382 apparently under Shinso’s control, it was not until chapter 384, translated by Caleb Cook, that it was revealed that he wasn’t actually brainwashed. . After All for One abandoned her, Gigantomachia felt betrayed and wanted an explanation. This deep anger is what causes the giant abuser to return to his former master. These feelings were so strong that they actually allowed Gigantomachia to escape Shinso’s Quirk, making him the only person other than Deku to do so.
My Hero Academia’s Deku & Gigantomachia Break Mind Control
What makes this shared difference between Deku and Gigantomachia interesting is how it really proves the villain’s superiority over Midoriya. Deku first faced off against Shinso during the UA Sports Festival where the two fought. Shinso was able to overpower Deku with his mind control Quirk and although Deku tried his best to fight it, he was ultimately unable to defeat it on his own. It took the intervention of previous One For All users to free Deku from Shinso’s control, after which he could easily win the fight. While this can be seen as Deku escaping Shinso’s control with his own power, it’s much less impressive than Gigantomachia escaping through sheer willpower and emotion.
The connection between Deku and Gigantomachia also gives rise to some other interesting comparisons. In many ways, Deku and Gigantomachia are complete opposites of each other. Deku is small and uses his size to increase maneuverability while Gigantomachia is massive and uses his massive mass to terrify and overwhelm enemies. Deku is highly intelligent and often uses his wits to tactical advantage while Gigantomachia is not depicted as very intelligent. In fact, up until this chapter, it seems that Gigantomachia has essentially no will or mind of its own, essentially like All For One’s stuff. One area where the two are similar is in their emotional depth and determination. But only Gigantomachia could break Shinso’s control with just emotions, it seems he is superior to Deku in this regard.
My Hero Academia Link Deku & Gigantomachia Make him better
This connection between Gigantomachia and Deku greatly improves the character of the giant villain before the series ends. He’s just another example of an unexpected character that My Hero Academia chose to highlight in the final installment. Great moments for My Hero AcademyThe manga’s supporting characters are the best part of the manga right now, so hopefully more characters like Gigantomachia will get a chance to prove how awesome they were before. by Deku The final match ends the series.
