Warning: There are spoilers for chapter 405 of My Hero Academia!!
My Hero Academy finally revealed Bakugo’s final battle in the series and his opponent is none other than All For One. As surprising as this match seems to have been in light of Bakugo’s death a few chapters ago, this fateful battle could have been foretold long ago and could mark the pinnacle of fate and character arc by Bakugo.
Chapter 405 reveals that the damage to Bakugo’s body was successfully repaired, albeit at the cost of Edgeshot’s life. Although Bakugo’s condition was far from ideal, Edgeshot’s sacrifice allowed Bakugo to return to the battlefield and declare himself All for One’s ultimate opponent. Furthermore, this chapter reveals a surprising connection to One For All’s second user, showing that he could actually take him down against all odds.
Bakugo mirrors the second user and represents all of one’s worst nightmares
Chapter 405 of My Hero Academia almost confirms the similarities between Bakugo and the second user of One For All. All For One caught a glimpse of the second user when Bakugo attacked him in chapter 405, just like Shigaraki did in chapter 365 when he was threatened by Bakugo, which was apparently one of All For One’s memories. Furthermore, All For One seemed confused and almost visibly disappointed during the battle with the second user in chapter 369. This general disappointment coupled with exceptionally similar comments from both Shigaraki and All For One in both of these scenarios it is shown that All For One’s greatest fear may actually be being defeated and humiliated by someone he considers insignificant like the second user or Bakugo, whom he served as a pawn to manipulate Deku throughout the series.
While fans have long speculated about Bakugo’s connection to the second user, with some suspecting that he may even be a descendant, the latest chapter suggests that Bakugo may simply act according to your wishes. Bakugo being the one to defeat All For One while Deku fights Shigaraki makes perfect sense from a thematic perspective, especially considering Bakugo’s journey so far and how he himself has learned not to looks down on his colleagues as insignificant ‘extras’. That said, defeating All For One won’t be easy, especially in Bakugo’s current state, but he could delay All For One long enough for Rewind to do the rest.
However, My Hero Academy is rapidly approaching its climax, all bets are off for the finale. The fight against All for One and Shigaraki is a long and difficult one, even though the heroes’ plans go awry in every way imaginable, and the winds of fate seem to be blowing. in their favor, so perhaps Bakugo can pull off a victory against All For One.
