The game launches September 5 in North America, September 8 in Europe/Oceania
NIS America started streaming last week the character trailer for AQUAPLUS’ Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten (Monochrome Mobius: Toki no Taika) and it highlights the characters Oshtor, Shunya, Munechika, Halu, Mikazuchi and Mayacowl.

The game will launch on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on September 5 in North America and on September 8 in Europe and Oceania.
NIS America will release a limited edition that includes hardcover picture books, original soundtrack, canvas posters, acrylic displays, art cards, and a collection box.

Shiravune and DMM Games released the game worldwide on PC via Steam last September. The PS5 and PS4 versions of the game were released in Japan on the same day.
Shiravune describes the game’s story:
In the small province of Ennakamuy, on the border of the great empire of Yamato, there lived a boy with his mother and sister. One day, at the behest of the local lord, the young man was investigating a minor anomaly when he met a girl he had never met. The girl’s words shocked him: She told the man that his father was still alive. Seeing traces of their father in her and determined to find out the truth, the boy and girl set out together to the land of Arva Shulan—a country that doesn’t appear on the map.
Faced with trials and dangers, the boy chases after his father. He meets new friends and teammates, who join him on his mission. There will be struggles, victories, defeats and partings. An erratic twist of fate will place an era in the hands of a young man—
And one day, this man will be mentioned in the legend.
The game celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Utawarerumono franchise. The head of the Utawarerumono franchise, SUGA Munemitsu, is credited with creating the game’s original concept and script. Mi artist is designing the characters. Franchise character designers Tatsuki Amazuyu and Misato Mitsumi are credited as the original character designers. AQUAPLUS composer Naoya Shimokawa is composing the music.
AQUAPLUS released the original Utawarerumono game in 2002 for PC. The game inspired a 2006 animated television series and an original 2009 animated series. ADV Films released the TV series in North America in 2007, and Funimation has since purchased copyrighted in North America.
Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception (Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen), the second game in the series, launched in Japan in September 2015. The anime adaptation of the game, Utawarerumono: The False Faces, launched in October. 2015. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan, and Sentai Filmworks released the series on home video.
Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth (Utawarerumono: Futari no Hakuoro), the final game in the Utawarerumono trilogy, launched in North America and Europe on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in September 2017. The game was released in Japan. Version for PlayStation 3, PS4, and PS Vita in September 2016. A television anime adaptation of the game premiered in July 2022. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan and also streamed. English dub online.
