Square Enix announced on Wednesday that its Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile game will end service on March 29.
The game launches in August 2022.
The game follows Hiromu Arakawa’s Fullmetal Alchemist series with full voice acting and scenes featuring 3DCG and new animations.
Nana Mizuki performs the game’s theme song “Spiral”.
Arakawa’s Fullmetal Alchemist 20th Anniversary takes place on July 12, 2021.
Arakawa’s Fullmetal Alchemist manga series was serialized in the monthly magazine Shonen Gangan from 2001 to 2010. Viz Media published the series as well as related novels and art books in North America. The manga has been adapted into television anime in 2003 and 2009, two OVAs, two anime films, and a live-action film. Two live-action sequels were released to celebrate the series’ 20th anniversary. Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Kanketsu-hen-Fukushūsha Scar premieres in May 2022 and Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Kanketsu-hen-Saigo no Rensei premieres in June 2022. Similar to the 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist anime, the Fullmetal Alchemist anime: 2009’s Brotherhood is based on the original Hiromu Manga by Arakawa, although the latter manga is closer to the manga’s story and ending.
