My Hero Academia fans, look no further than someone who will cosplay with you even after you’ve become a grandparent.
Most of the time, the people who attend fan events include the younger generations. Rarely do these events have older fans in attendance. Through Jeck Batallones, ABS-CBN News featured two cosplayers joining the fun at CONQuest 2023 as Gran Torino of My Hero Academia and Recovery Girl, making them the two oldest cosplayers at the convention. According to cosplayers Gran Torino and Recovery Girl, cosplay helps relieve stress and keeps them fresh.
Peeping at the Gran Torino/Recovery Girl
Even though Recovery Girl and Gran Torino aren’t a couple in the manga, the two cosplayers have shown how cute they would look if they got together. The two look exactly like their My Hero Academia counterparts, with the grandmother wearing a white Recovery Girl lab coat, pink helmet, and yellow gloved visor. He waved merrily at the camera, posing with a fist in a bright yellow and white uniform and wearing a black mask. To complete his cosplay, he even wore a belt with a giant G as a buckle.
First introduced in Season 1, Gran Torino becomes Izuku Midoriya’s teacher to learn about his newly acquired Quirk One for All. Through an extreme training regimen, Midoriya has managed to better handle and control his Quirk. In Season 6, before Midoriya decided to fight alone, the Pro Hero gave back his iconic yellow cape. In My Hero Academia, Midoriya quickly becomes acquainted with the Recovery Girl due to the young hero’s serious injury while using One for All. With a big kiss on the lips, Recovery Girl healed Midoriya many times.
