The racing anime MF Ghost will begin airing in Japan on October 1 (ie, October 2 at 12 a.m. JST), an announcement has been revealed.
An October launch date was announced in July along with the release of a new trailer.
MF Ghost is based on the manga by Kodansha’s publisher Shuuichi Shigeno published by Initial D, began in 2017 and has 17 tankoubon volumes as of June 2023. The series is serialized in Weekly Young Magazine and published under the Yanmaga KC Special label.

The story is set in the 2020s in the world of Original D, where self-driving cars are common in Japan. During this time, a race known as the MFG became popular worldwide. Kanata Rivington, a graduate of racing school in England, returned to Japan to achieve a certain goal.
Yuuma Uchida and Ayane Sakura voice the main characters Kanata Katagiri/Kanata Rivington and Ren Saionji, respectively. Other cast members include Daisuke Ono as Shun Aiba, Hiroshi Kamiya as Mikhail Beckenbauer, Daisuke Namikawa as Daigo Oishi and Junichi Suwabe as Kaito Akaba.
Some D-back initials include Yasunori Matsumoto as Wataru Akiyama, Tomokazu Seki as Keisuke Takahashi, Mitsuo Iwata as Itsuki Takeuchi, Kazuki Yao as Koichiro Iketani, Wataru Takagi as Kenji and Nobutoshi Canna as Kai Kogashiwa.
