My Hero Academia: You're Next revealed a new trailer today following the first episode of the four-part Memories recap series. Studio BONES is working on the project that was originally announced last year. The story will be set in a destroyed society. Tensai Okamura will direct the film and will release on August 2 in Japan. The trailer introduces a new villain – Dark Might, who looks exactly like All Might. Kenta Miyake, who voices All Might, also voices the new villain:
Kohei Horikoshi, the original author of the My Hero Academia series, will oversee production. It is the fourth film in the My Hero Academia franchise and follows Two Heroes (2018), Heroes:Rising (2019) and World Heroes' Mission (2021). All have original storylines.
The My Hero Academia anime is based on the manga by Kohei Horikoshi that has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since 2014. The manga was adapted into an anime by studio BONES in 2016. Part 2 aired in 2017, continuing followed by the third season in 2018. The fourth season of the anime series began airing in fall 2019 and ended in winter 2020. The fifth season aired in 2021, while the sixth and latest season aired from October 2022 until March last year. The seventh season is scheduled to premiere on May 4.
