The “WcDonald’s” brand name, in both English and Japanese, is proudly displayed on the building’s facade and on nearby signage. Along with special packaging, the meal also comes with a QR code that allows direct access to WcDonald’s Bright manga and anime episodes produced by Studio Pierrot (Naruto, Bleach).
CBR recently had the opportunity to chat with Acky Bright, who explained that he was excited to see McDonald’s enthusiasm for this project. “I was surprised…as an artist, every time we draw a billboard or banner for a famous brand, we present it as a parody, and we are always worried , thinking ‘will McDonald’s become mad at me for doing this?’ So for McDonald’s to represent itself as “WcDonald’s” is funny and I think it’s awesome,” Bright said.
